Hidden plastics exist throughout build materials and decorations. Even tapes and glues are petroleum-based.
Replace single-use plastic zip ties for reusable bungee ropes.
Invest in reusable zip ties.
Choose natural cord / twine, wool and washi tape (made from renewable sources such as hemp and bamboo and biodegradable).
For an eco-friendly alternative to hot-melt glues, gelatin-based glue is a great solution. Gelatin based glue is derived from sustainable sources, mainly recycled pharmaceutical capsule netting, and is biodegradable.
Most hot-melt glues are composed of polyurethane, EVA, and polyolefin, they are not biodegradable.
