Plastic Wrap

(*Non-mandatory)

Reusables

Use air-tight reusable silicone stretch lids to cover reusable containers, bowls, or trays. These can easily be washed and reused and have the same fundamental properties as plastic wrap.

Use reusable storage bags.

Use reusable beeswax. Some restaurants create their own beeswax wrap using beeswax from their own beekeeping operations or from their local suppliers.

Disposables

When reusables are not applicable, choose disposable options that are compatible with available waste management infrastructure.

Use aluminum foil instead of plastic wrap. If washed, aluminum foil can be recycled and is nearly infinitely recyclable. Aluminum recycling is available globally.

Choose home compostable plastic wrap.

If using commercially compostable plastic wrap, be sure to properly separate and sort waste for collection to a proper treatment facility.
